About Expense

Hi my name is Jasper. I'm the founder and sole employee of Expense. It all started as a passion project trying to find cheaper car parts on AliExpress, and I discovered how much extra money common retailers charge for simple products made in the same factory as those exact same products from AliExpress.

I then realized, after watching the fallout from the Honey affiliate controversy, that I could build a responsible savings extension that, rather than finding coupon codes, finds the same or similar product from China and doesn't scam creators out of affiliate revenue. Thus, Expense was born.

I have worked on this project since around May of 2025, striving to achieve the best accuracy possible rather than shipping cheaply made ai generated slop. I have employed the use of ai throughout the making of Expense, but only because I am a solo founder with near zero funding and don’t have the developer team needed to build this business entirely by hand. Rest assured, however, that this is still a quality extension and not some ai slop; Real human effort has gone into it.
