How it works
Ready when you are
There is nothing to open or set up. It reads ten storefront platforms directly, falls back to schema.org data and then to the page's own structure, and keeps out of marketplaces and big-box retailers entirely.
Matches by meaning
It sends the product title, price, and category, and searches the catalogue semantically, looking for the same object rather than the same keywords.
Stays out of the way
It waits as a small marker in the corner, drawn inside its own shadow root. On a page with no product it makes no network requests at all.
One tap out
Pick the cheaper listing and you are already on its page. New tab, same total, nothing to copy across.
The ten storefront platforms it reads directly:
- Shopify
- WooCommerce
- BigCommerce
- Adobe Commerce
- PrestaShop
- Wix
- Squarespace
- Ecwid
- Big Cartel
- Square Online

Good to know
Do I have to sign up?
Yes, a free account. Sign in once at app.expense.cash and it stays signed in; the extension picks the session up on its own. No payment details, ever.
What happens to my browsing?
The product's title, price, and category go to our API to find the match. Nothing else leaves the page. On a page with no product, the extension makes no requests at all. We never sell your data.
So who pays for this?
The direct supplier does. The links we hand you carry an affiliate tag, so a purchase pays us a commission, and your total is the same either way. We also do not rewrite links you arrived through, so creator codes stay intact.
Which stores does it work on?
Independent storefronts built on the ten platforms listed above. Marketplaces and big-box retailers are deliberately left alone. They source from the same suppliers, so there is nothing cheaper to point you at.
Pay the real
price for once.
It runs in the background and speaks up only when there is money on the table.
Free, and it stays free.
Still in development
Expense is not on the Chrome Web Store yet. It is a Manifest V3 extension, loaded unpacked by developers for now. The install button here goes live the day the store listing is approved.
